OK THEN.....

Well, let us just pretend that we just did NOT skip over December and January...K?   The holidays were busy and fun for us, and I also realized that not only did I NOT add to my posts (this is still new to me) but I mailed out all of my Christmas cards without taking pictures of them TO post.  What was that saying....how many times does one need to do something before it becomes a habit?  Well, I will at least show you what is in the works now, will that make up for it?

This card - ahhh, I just love how it turned out.  It uses a card pattern and a technique that I have been wanting to try and I think they both fit well together on this lovely Valentine card.  Here is what I used (all are CTMH products)

  • This awesome card pattern from Mojo Monday
  • Kraft, Black, and Colonial White cardstock
  • Roxy pattern paper
  • Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge (for the banner, scallop, circle and hearts)
  • Black embroidery floss, small sparkles
  • The January stamp of the month - Little Reminder
The card is easy to assemble, the fun technique was to make a base for the hearts, and then add the dimension to them by stacking multiple hearts 1/4" smaller - sewn together with the floss.  I discovered after trying to mail some Christmas cards that were "blinged up and layered" that the Post Office had the nerve to ask for more postage because my envelope was BULKY.  The nerve, right? So, this technique adds the pop-up layering without the bulk because it lays flat inside the envelope.

Give it a try - let me know how you like it.  I used the same technique on this card (also a shape cut from the AP cartridge (exclusive to Close To My Heart!).
